The project
Make allocation rules work as one system
A centralized admission process must turn students' choices, program places and policy priorities into a coherent assignment. That requires an algorithm whose behavior can be understood and tested before implementation.
ConsiliumBots worked with MINEDU on the mechanism behind Acceso Libre. The engineering and research work includes preparing inputs, specifying rules and simulating assignments under different scenarios.
What the work involves
Organize the inputs
Bring student preferences, program places and relevant priorities into a common representation.
Specify the mechanism
Translate the policy rules into an assignment procedure that can be implemented and checked.
Compare scenarios
Use simulations to understand the consequences of alternative design choices.
Research & implementation
Documented design work in 2021–2022
The 2021–2022 collaboration focused on the algorithm and policy rules behind a proposed centralized higher-education process. ConsiliumBots records the design work as completed, with Christopher Neilson as principal investigator and Karen Eichhorn as project lead.
