Gabriel is an Associate Professor and director of the PhD program in the
Department of Economics at University College London, with affiliations at
IFS, RFBerlin, IZA, CEPR, and BREAD. His research is in labor economics and
development, with particular focus on informality, firm dynamics, and labor
markets in Brazil. He and Christopher have collaborated on the COVID-19
international small business study examining how the pandemic affected small
firms across countries.
