Francisco is a Professor of Economics and Director of the Institute for
Sustainable Development at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, and
Scientific Director of J-PAL LAC. His research spans the economics of
education, development, political economy, and the historical determinants of
long-run economic outcomes in Latin America. He and Christopher are
long-running collaborators on Chilean education-policy research.
