Nano (Hector) Barahona is a Chilean-German economist and Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of California, Berkeley, specializing in industrial organization and public economics. He earned his Ph.D. in economics from Stanford University (2021) after undergraduate and master’s studies at the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile, and he is a Faculty Research Fellow at the NBER. He is a coauthor with Christopher Neilson on ‘High-School Dropouts: Cutting Losses or Just Missing Out?’ (with Christina Kent and Sebastian Otero), a study set in the Dominican Republic.
