Kevin Cowan is a Chilean economist with a PhD in economics from MIT and an Ingeniero Comercial degree from the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile, currently a professor of finance and regulation at Universidad Adolfo Ibanez. His career includes research roles at the Central Bank of Chile, positions at the Inter-American Development Bank (2014-2017), and service as commissioner and vice president of Chile’s Financial Market Commission (2018-2023). He co-authored “Financial Diversification, Sudden Stops and Sudden Starts” (Central Bank of Chile Working Paper 423, 2007) with Jose De Gregorio, Alejandro Micco, and Christopher A. Neilson.
