About
Joshua Graff Zivin is a Professor at UC San Diego’s School of Global Policy and Strategy and Department of Economics, where he holds the CGT Endowed Chair in Technology Policy and directs the Peter F. Cowhey Center on Global Transformation. He received his BA from Rutgers University and his MS and PhD from UC Berkeley, and spent eleven years at Columbia University before joining UC San Diego in 2008. A leading scholar of environmental economics and the economics of science and innovation, he studies how pollution and environmental stressors affect health and human capital, and coauthored ‘Grey Matters: Fetal Pollution Exposure and Human Capital Formation’ with Christopher Neilson.
