Harald Beyer (full name Harald Ricardo Beyer Burgos) is a Chilean economist who holds a business administration degree from Universidad de Chile and a PhD in economics from UCLA, and who served as Chile’s Minister of Education (2011-2013), director of the Centro de Estudios Publicos (2014-2018), and Rector of Universidad Adolfo Ibanez (2018-2024). His research focuses on education policy, income inequality, and labor markets in Chile. He is a coauthor with Christopher Neilson on ‘Connecting Student Loans to Labor Market Outcomes: Policy Lessons from Chile’ (with Justine Hastings and Seth Zimmerman).
