Fabian Duarte is an associate professor of economics at the Universidad de Chile’s Facultad de Economia y Negocios, where he has also directed the Department of Economics (2022-2025) and the Microdata Center (2018-2020). He earned his PhD, M.Phil, and MA in economics at Yale University after studying civil mathematical engineering and economics at the Universidad de Chile, and works on health, education, public economics, and applied microeconomics. He is a coauthor of Christopher Neilson on “Getting Better Students to Become Teachers: The Effects of Targeted Tuition Subsidies.”
