Eduardo Engel is a Chilean economist, Professor of Economics at the University of Chile and Director of Espacio Publico, who previously held a professorship at Yale University (2001-2013). He holds an engineering degree from the University of Chile, a PhD in Statistics from Stanford, and a PhD in Economics from MIT, and works on macroeconomics, public finance, and infrastructure economics. He is a Fellow of the Econometric Society and recipient of the Frisch Medal, and coauthored ‘Chile’s Fiscal Rule as Social Insurance’ with Christopher Neilson.
