Cristian Sanchez is a Chilean applied microeconomist working on public economics, industrial organization, and the economics of education, with a focus on school vouchers and credit markets in Latin America. He earned his Ph.D. in economics from the University of Maryland (2018) and has held posts as Senior Economist at the Central Bank of Chile and Assistant Professor at ITAM; as of 2026 he is a Visiting Assistant Professor at Universidad de los Andes. He is a coauthor with Christopher Neilson (and Adam Kapor) on ‘Carrots and Sticks for Teacher Colleges: The Equilibrium Design of Teacher Recruitment Policy.’
