Alejandro Micco is a full professor of economics at the Universidad de Chile’s Facultad de Economia y Negocios. He holds a PhD in economics from Harvard University and an industrial engineering degree from the Universidad de Chile, and previously served as Undersecretary (Vice Minister) of Finance during President Michelle Bachelet’s second administration, as well as senior researcher at the Inter-American Development Bank and the Central Bank of Chile. He is a coauthor of Christopher Neilson on the paper “Financial Diversification, Sudden Stops and Sudden Starts.”
